Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team as a Triage Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our outpatient clinic.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage Patient Calls: Respond to incoming patient calls and information to facilitate the continuum of care for our patients.
  • Document Retrieval and Response: Retrieve documents and respond to patient messages from voice mails in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Clinical Algorithm Implementation: Follow clinical algorithms to determine appropriate responses to patient needs.
  • Urgency Assessment: Assist patients and staff in determining the urgency and level of care required.
  • Communication with Providers: Discuss patient clinical information with providers to determine the best course of care.
  • Prescription Processing: Process prescription requests per standard order policy.
  • Lab and Test Result Management: Sort and separate urgent from non-urgent labs, x-rays, and other test results. Follow up with providers with urgent results and submit all other results to medical records for filing.
  • Medication Log Maintenance: Maintain medication logs as needed.
  • Prior Authorization Forms: Complete prior authorization forms for patient referrals.
  • Exceptional Service: Provide excellent service to patients and staff.
Requirements
  • Active CPR Card: Possess an active CPR card.
  • Valid MD License: Hold a valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Maryland.
  • Business Acumen: Possess sound judgment, good communication, and business acumen skills.
