Job DescriptionWe're seeking an experienced Registered Nurse in Oncology to join our team on FT nights. As a key member of our healthcare team, you'll coordinate and implement nursing care for patients, focusing on timely and accurate assessments and interventions.
This role requires a nursing diploma or degree from a reputable college or university, state licensure in Tennessee, and various certifications specific to oncology and patient care. Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive assessments on all patients within the appropriate timeframe, utilizing skills of observation, communication, and examination.
- Plan individualized patient care, identifying problems/needs, nursing diagnosis, standards of care/practice, interventions consistent with identified problems, and attainable outcomes.
- Plan for patient teaching, discharge, and post-discharge needs as appropriate for the patient population.
- Function independently with treatments, procedures, and equipment appropriate to areas, evidenced by adherence to policy, procedure, and competency-based assessment.
- Handle, transport, store, prepare, and administer medications/solutions safely and in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
- Document accurately and timely.
- Reassess patient condition, evaluate patient response, and modify plan of care accordingly and in a timely manner.
- Acept charge responsibilities and assign staff with consideration of patient condition and care requirements, acuity, and complexity of patient's condition.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A nursing diploma or degree from a reputable college or university.
- State licensure in Tennessee.
- Variety of certifications specific to oncology and patient care, including ONS chemo/immunotherapy certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and function independently.
