Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Resource Nurse to join our MedSurg department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care while supporting your colleagues during breaks and meal periods. Your expertise and knowledge will enable you to make informed decisions and take initiative in resolving patient care problems. By collaborating with our interdisciplinary team, you will develop and implement individualized plans of care that address the unique needs of each patient. Your ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively will be essential in ensuring seamless care transitions and successful patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Documenting interventions, outcomes, patient care, and patient response.
  • Acting as a resource to staff by providing information and problem-solving to immediately resolve patient care problems.
  • Developing, implementing, and modifying the patient's plan of care according to the patient's progress.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of specific disease process treatments, interventions, and responses based on age specificity, patient's needs, condition, impairment, or disability.
  • Reviewing physician orders and accurately transcribing to MAR.
  • Initiating STAT orders promptly.
  • Assessing, collaborating, reporting, and coordinating the patient's transfer or discharge planning needs and readiness for discharge or transfer to another level of care with the other members of the health care team and patient's family/SO.

Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • A graduate degree from an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
  • A current RN License by the Board of Nurse Examiners State of California.
  • A current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BCLS.
  • A minimum of one year of acute care hospital experience preferred.
