Visiting Assistant Professor of US History

Job Summary:
The History Department at Manhattan College invites applications for a full-time, visiting assistant professor position in US history. The successful candidate will teach four courses per semester, including options from both halves of the US history survey, an upper-division course in their area of specialization, and lower-division courses in the History program or the Kakos School of Liberal Arts and Sciences Core Curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach 12 credits (4 classes a semester) of History.
- Develop and implement curriculum for History courses.
- Assess student learning and provide feedback.
- Participate in departmental and university service.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in History.
- Experience as the instructor of record for a college-level history course.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. History.
- Ability to plan and teach college courses in History.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary for this position will be between $34.5K and $36.5K for a contract running from January 14 to June 15, 2025.
