Job Summary

PacArctic, LLC, a Koniag Government Service Company, is seeking a full-time Jr. FOIA Analyst with Top Secret Clearance to support our government customer in Charleston, SC.

The Jr. FOIA Analyst will be part of a team that provides FOIA and Privacy Act (PA) processing and internal/external consulting services in support of the IPS offices' administration of the FOIA and PA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review incoming FOIA requests and orchestrate the processing of highly complex FOIA requests.
  • Assist the FOIA Officer in preparing the IPS's quarterly, annual, and executive-level FOIA/PA reports.
  • Develop and update FOIA program office strategic plans and recommend actions to comply with evolving disclosure laws and procedures.
  • Keep the FOIA Officer apprised of the status of each FOIA/PA request and research FOIA issues as needed.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in foreign policy, diplomacy, foreign aid, or national security.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of E.O. 13526, the FOIA, the Privacy Act, and other information access programs.
  • Experience working on FOIA appeals and/or FOIA litigation cases, including work on declarations, Vaughn indices, and preparing documents for FOIA litigation filings.
  • Strong analytical skills, knowledge of all 9 FOIA exemptions, and the ability to pay attention to detail.

This position requires a Top Secret Clearance and a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field of study, or a Juris Doctor degree with experience working in and/or demonstrated expertise in foreign affairs or national security.

The incumbent will work in a professional office environment and have a moderate noise level. The position requires standing, walking, sitting, using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and hearing.

The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations, and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs and have specific vision abilities required by the job.
