Job Summary:

This full-time, 11-month tenure-track position is responsible for teaching nursing assistant courses, developing curriculum, and assessing student learning outcomes. The successful candidate will have a strong background in nursing education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach nursing assistant courses, including classroom and clinical instruction
  • Develop and implement curriculum to meet program goals and accreditation standards
  • Assess student learning outcomes and make data-driven decisions to improve instruction
  • Provide individualized support to students, including academic advising and career guidance
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement program-wide initiatives
  • Participate in department and college-wide meetings and committees
Requirements:
  • Current valid California Board of Registered Nursing license (CA BRN)
  • Bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience in nursing or a related field
  • One year of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care in a long-term care facility
  • One year of experience planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs in nursing
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in nursing or a related field
  • Teaching experience in a certified nursing assistant program
  • Staff development leadership experience in a skilled nursing facility
  • Working knowledge of multi-media materials and computer-assisted instruction
