As a Renal Care Specialist, you will provide prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to patients with renal issues. Your duties will include documenting observations, assessments, and changes in patient condition, collaborating with the healthcare team to facilitate positive patient outcomes, providing a range of nursing care to patients with various physical and behavioral problems, and being accountable for meeting and maintaining qualification standards.
Responsibilities- Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to medication.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
- RN licensed in Texas or a Compact state.
- BCLS certification.
- Completion of RN/LVN program leading to licensure.
- Ability to read and write basic English with basic skills necessary to understand and transfer physician orders.
