The Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Coordinator is a key member of our team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our medical equipment program. This includes coordinating the fitting, refitting, and custom measurement of medical devices, as well as providing patient education and financial counseling.
Key Responsibilities- Medical Device Coordination
- Coordinate the fitting, refitting, and custom measurement of medical devices for patients.
- Ensure that all medical devices are properly applied and used by patients.
- Patient Education and Counseling
- Provide patients with education and counseling on the use and maintenance of medical devices.
- Answer patient questions and address concerns related to medical devices.
- Financial Counseling
- Explain insurance billing and cash collection processes to patients.
- Help patients understand their financial responsibilities related to medical devices.
- Program Management
- Track and review program metrics, expenses, revenue, profit, and shrinkage.
- Identify trends and areas for improvement in the medical equipment program.
- Inventory Management
- Maintain an accurate inventory of medical devices.
- Order and stock medical devices as needed.
- Training and Oversight
- Train staff on the proper use and application of medical devices.
- Provide oversight to ensure that medical devices are being applied correctly.
- Education
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as biological science or exercise science.
- Experience
- Previous experience in a medical equipment or orthotics and prosthetics setting is preferred.
- Skills
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
This is a day shift position, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
