Ophthalmology Physician Opportunity in Manhattan

Job Description
The Mount Sinai Health System is seeking an Ophthalmologist to join its outpatient multi-specialty practice in Midtown Manhattan. This practice will be located on West 53rd Street and 8th Avenue.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of eye diseases and conditions.
- Perform necessary surgical procedures, including examinations before and after surgery, and instruct patients on self-care to improve recovery.
- Provide health education and counseling, and establish preventive health practices.
- Initiate laboratory, radiology, and pathology exams, and specialty consults as necessary.
- Exercise judgment in establishing priorities of medical care and consult with and refer to appropriate specialists for high-risk or complex patients.
- Supervise optometrists from time to time.
- Foster a professional, collaborative work environment with all team members and colleagues.
- Provide case management with other healthcare team members.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree from an accredited university.
- Ability to obtain a New York license.
- Board certification or board eligibility in Ophthalmology.
- Active DEA license and BLS and ACLS certification.
- Demonstrated professional competence and integrity, and ethical conduct of practice.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, bedside manner, and organizational skills.
- Patient-focused and committed to providing outstanding and compassionate care and service to all patients.
- A strong work ethic and desire to participate in team-oriented, performance-driven healthcare.

Mount Sinai Health System provides a salary range to comply with the New York City law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, historical collections, and hospital/community need.
The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses/incentive compensation or benefits.
