We are seeking a skilled System Security Architect to join our team in Bedford, MA. The successful candidate will have significant experience in system security architecture, information assurance, and cybersecurity.

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement secure systems and architectures that meet government regulations and standards;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate security risks;
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive security plans and strategies;
  • Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify potential security threats;
  • Design and implement countermeasures to prevent security breaches;
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards;
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in cybersecurity and adapt existing systems to meet changing needs;
  • Manage and oversee the implementation of security measures across multiple projects;
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure that security requirements are met;
  • Provide expertise in areas such as threat modeling, penetration testing, and security testing;
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of security policies and procedures;
  • Develop and implement training programs to educate employees on security best practices;
  • Maintain accurate records of security incidents and vulnerabilities;
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and develop strategic plans to address these gaps;
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment with overall business strategy;
  • Stay informed about the latest security threats and technologies;
  • Continuously assess and evaluate the effectiveness of security controls and make recommendations for improvement;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and partners to stay informed about the latest security technologies and best practices;
  • Stay current with regulatory requirements and industry standards;
  • Provide input on the development of the company's security vision and strategy;
  • Lead by example in maintaining high security standards;
  • Keep abreast of emerging security threats and adjust security protocols accordingly;
  • Develop and deliver presentations to senior management and external parties on security matters;
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with key stakeholders, including project managers, product owners, and line managers;
  • Provide security guidance and advice to technical teams;
  • Collaborate with audit and compliance teams to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements;
  • Work closely with product development teams to integrate security features and functions;
  • Provide regular progress updates to stakeholders and communicate changes in security posture;
  • Maintain accurate records of security incidents and vulnerabilities;
  • Assist in communicating security issues to non-security audiences;
  • Develop security documentation and artifacts as required;
  • Participate in review and analysis of data breach cases and provide recommendations for prevention;
  • Identify security risks and perform risk assessments to recommend mitigation strategies;
  • Staying updated with recent developments in IT security;

Requirements

Experience: 15+ years related experience. Prior performance in roles such as ISSO, ISSM, SCA, or SAP IT Technical Director.

Education: Master's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience (6 years).

Certifications: Must meet position and certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive 8570.01-M for Information Assurance Architect and Engineer Level II or Information Assurance Architect and Engineer Level III within 6 months of the date of hire.

Security Clearance: Current Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility. Eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information. Willingness to submit to a Counterintelligence polygraph.

Other Requirements: Must have expert knowledge of DoD, National, and applicable service and agency security policy, manuals, and standards.
