Job Summary

Washington Gastroenterology is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Tacoma (Waldron) Endoscopy Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the highest level of quality and safety in our endoscopy setting.

Responsibilities

  • Patient Assessment and Care
    • Assess and evaluate the biophysical, psychological, and social aspects affecting patient care
    • Organize and implement a plan of care based on the assessment for each patient
    • Evaluate plan of care and make changes as necessary
  • Communication and Teamwork
    • Identify pertinent patient history during admission process
    • Assess patient's needs continually from admission to discharge
    • Initiate the care of each patient and relate needed information to MD and staff
    • Serve as a patient advocate to assure safe, efficient procedures and quality care
  • Documentation and Quality Improvement
    • Evaluate patient responses; provide care as indicated
    • Verify completed charts and records to meet quality improvement goals
    • Coordinate all discharge instructions for improved patient and family compliance

Qualifications

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Washington
  • Previous clinical or gastroenterology experience preferred
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification
  • Ability to actively collaborate and build a strong team within the Center and with the rest of WAGI

Physical Activities and Requirements

  • Occasional travel may be required to other local locations on an as-needed basis to back-fill for vacations, etc.
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the day, up to 10 hours per day
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and performing administrative duties including the use of computers
  • Ability to bend, twist, stoop, and reach
  • Able to lift and carry supplies and equipment as needed (up to 15 pounds)

Compensation and Benefits

  • Employees (and their families) who work full time (defined as working 30 or more hours per week) will be eligible for medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, accidental death and dismemberment, and basic life insurance
  • In addition, employees are able to enroll in our company's 401(k) plan which includes a company provided safe harbor contribution of 3% of annual earnings and the potential for a company discretionary profit-sharing contribution
  • All employees will be eligible to accrue PTO at a rate of .04 hours per payroll hour (1.6 hours for a 40-hour week) which can be used for and exceeds the required mandatory WA State and other local ordinances
  • A new hire full time employee in this role will be eligible for a Hiring Bonus in the amount of $3,000.00
  • This is an Hourly position, and the anticipated Compensation range is $38.00-$47.50
