Job Summary

We're seeking a Senior Engineer - Modeling and Simulation to join our Combination Product Operations Digital and Data Strategies group. This team develops and deploys state-of-the-art advanced computational technologies and empirical and first-principles models to improve process understanding, robustness, and monitoring, and prediction and optimization of the manufacturing of combination products. The ideal candidate will apply in-silico modeling theory to develop novel mechanistic computational models addressing a wide variety of challenging problems associated with combination product design control, characterization, verification, and validation.

Responsibilities
  • Identify requirements and specifications suitable for in-silico evaluation of combination products.
  • Apply finite element analysis (FEA) and engineering simulation principles to develop, deploy, enhance, automate, and manage in-silico models for combination products.
  • Implement in-silico models in commercial and proprietary software and deploy these models to internal users via enterprise modeling infrastructure.
  • Demonstrate critical and analytical thinking skills to explore new opportunities in in-silico and data-driven computational models and simulate complaints and real-world issues within the lifecycle of combination products.
  • Provide positive leadership and deliver work in a fast-paced, multi-project, cross-functional environment.
  • Own products, responsible for developing and managing backlogs of in-silico product content in Scrum and SAFe.
Requirements
  • Doctorate degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in mathematical and computational modeling, FEA for structural mechanics, and multi-physics problems using commercial software such as 3DEXPERIENCE platform SIMULIA, ANSYS, LS-Dyna, COMSOL.
  • Skilled in programming in Python, and/or MATLAB for engineering purposes.
  • Experience with GitLab and/or other code/model repositories available for version control, code collaboration, and project management.
  • Knowledge of Scrum and SAFe methodologies, with a proven track record as a scrum master or product owner.
  • Experience with combination products and device regulatory requirements, medical device development and design controls, and knowledge of process controls.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and technical documentation skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity with the ability to learn new concepts/frameworks, algorithms, and technology rapidly as needs arise.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously and work in highly collaborative, cross-functional environments.
