We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our team at Westinghouse Electric Company, LLC. As a Principal Project Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the procurement and supply chain management process for our nuclear energy projects.
Key Responsibilities- Supplier Assessment:
- Develop and implement supplier identification and down selection strategies.
- Conduct supplier audits and technical evaluations to ensure compliance with quality and technical requirements.
- Negotiate non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) and protect intellectual property (PIA) as needed.
- Create and lead Request for Quotation (RFQ) package creation, including drafting SAP requisitions and technical requirements.
- Lead supplier design proposal and compliance matrix review meetings.
- Supplier Oversight:
- Develop and execute manufacturing and process plans to ensure cost and schedule compliance.
- Conduct supplier quality assurance (QA) technical witness and hold points to ensure quality standards are met.
- Support project management teams in interfacing with supplier quality support organizations.
- Supplier Development & Management:
- Develop and lead kick-off meetings with suppliers to ensure project objectives are understood.
- Conduct regular meetings with suppliers and Westinghouse project support team members to ensure project progress and address any issues.
- Manage and execute required supplier QA witness and hold points to ensure quality standards are met.
- Hold pre-job briefs and/or kick-off meetings for critical PO manufacturing activities.
- Drive and support purchase order (PO) change notices as needed.
- Provide periodic project schedule updates and customer status updates.
- Ensure all required supplier PO scope is complete, including fabrication, testing, and documentation.
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Power Engineering.
- Experience:
- Minimum 6 years of applicable experience required; 8+ years preferred.
- Experience in the power generation or nuclear industries is preferred, but not required.
- Skills:
- Familiarity with manufacturing capability assessment concepts and supplier technical evaluations.
- Fluent in English; secondary language skills a plus but not required.
- Ability to travel to support emergent project issues and supplier development.
- US citizenship required.
- Ability to meet import/export controls laws and regulations.
- PMP Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus.
