Role Summary:
A qualified medical professional with both academic and hands-on experience, utilizing advanced imaging technology to assist physicians in diagnosing cardiac conditions. Operates ultrasound machinery to produce real-time 2-D or 3-D visuals of the heart and its structures.
This role offers a commitment incentive of up to $15,000.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conducts echocardiograms that meet consistent diagnostic standards, generating high-quality ultrasound images of the heart and associated structures using 2D, M-Mode, Doppler, and Strain techniques.
2. Demonstrates proficiency in administering ultrasound enhancing agents.
3. Provides comprehensive pre- and post-procedure patient care, including assessments and emergency cardiac interventions.
4. Completes structured reports for all examinations promptly.
5. Consults with healthcare professionals regarding echocardiogram results.
6. Monitors and documents patient data, maintaining accurate report storage and data systems. Responsible for compiling necessary data for billing and preparing reports for digital archiving.
Educational Qualifications:
● High School Diploma or GED
● Associate degree in Sonography, Radiology, or a related field within three months of hire, or completion of a twelve-month ultrasound program within three months of hire.
Licensure/Certification:
● Basic Life Support (BLS)
● Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) within one year of hire, maintaining registry status and continuing education requirements annually.
Professional Experience:
● No prior experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
● Proficient in operating sonographic equipment.
● Ability to assess echocardiograms to gather necessary diagnostic information.
● Capable of adjusting workload to meet patient demands.
● Independent judgment to optimize echocardiogram quality during examinations.
● Adherence to established departmental protocols.
● Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in emergency situations.
● Comprehensive understanding of echocardiography interpretation and techniques.
● Strong communication skills and sensitivity to patient needs.
● Ability to interpret information to cater to each patient's specific care requirements.
