The EFNEP Educator plays a crucial role in enhancing the nutritional knowledge and skills of youth and families within the community. This position is dedicated to providing research-driven education that empowers participants to make healthier food choices and adopt active lifestyles.
Key Responsibilities:- Recruit and engage participants, including adults and school-aged youth, in nutrition education programs.
- Conduct regular educational sessions in both home and group settings, focusing on essential nutrition principles and food preparation techniques.
- Maintain accurate program records and submit reports as required.
- Promote the program within the community and collaborate with local organizations to extend outreach.
- Facilitate hands-on food demonstrations for participants to enhance learning experiences.
- Work closely with other Cooperative Extension staff to address community needs effectively.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Preferred candidates will have experience in community service programs, teaching, or nutrition education, particularly with limited-resource populations. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are advantageous.
Work Environment:This role requires travel within the designated area, utilizing a personal vehicle. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, with occasional evening and weekend commitments.
