This role entails overseeing the effective functioning and upkeep of fire sprinkler systems. Key responsibilities include evaluating, testing, and conducting thorough system assessments. The supervisor will play a crucial role in identifying system shortcomings and generating precise and timely inspection documentation. This position leads small teams of 2-3 individuals to manage tasks at client locations.
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on fire sprinkler systems.
- Conduct servicing and inspections of wet, dry, and pre-action systems.
- Evaluate, maintain, repair, or replace fire sprinkler apparatus and systems in strict compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Engage with clients in a professional and respectful manner.
- Provide advanced technical support to team members and clients as required.
- Instruct trade skills to developing apprentices/helpers.
- Complete comprehensive inspection reports, documenting any issues and reporting the results of completed work in a timely and accurate manner.
- Inspect and maintain the service vehicle and all associated equipment, submitting repair requests as necessary to ensure safe operation.
- Respond to urgent service requests.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with commercial and residential fire sprinkler systems.
- Proficient in operating sprinkler trade equipment, including but not limited to impact wrenches, band saws, measuring tools, fitting take-outs, manual lifting devices, grooving machines, threading machines, and powered industrial lifting devices.
- Must possess a clean driving record and a valid driver's license.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Comply with the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Physical Demands:
- While executing the essential functions of this role, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and may occasionally lift and/or move heavy objects.
- The position also necessitates the following physical capabilities to perform essential job functions: balancing, climbing, grasping, hearing, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, repetitive motion, speaking, and visual acuity.
