Purpose of the Lead Healthcare Provider Position

The Lead Healthcare Provider will provide professional Registered Nurse services to patients from admission to discharge, ensuring seamless care coordination and patient satisfaction. This role will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing individualized care plans, and supervising support staff in delivering care. The successful candidate will initiate a comprehensive nursing assessment and plan of care upon admission, reflecting patient outcomes, education, and discharge planning according to established guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide total bedside nursing care to assigned patients through thorough assessment and individualized care planning.
  • Develop an interdisciplinary plan of care, reflecting timely, effective patient outcomes and medical interventions.
  • Collaborate with the head nurse to delegate assignments for nursing personnel based on patient acuity and staff skill level.
  • Document pertinent observations on patient charts and report findings to the head nurse and/or physician.
  • Monitor suicidal patients, document observations, and adhere to hospital policy.
  • Administer medications and treatments in a safe, knowledgeable manner, and document according to hospital standards.
  • Prepare for and assist with diagnostic procedures and treatment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse.
  • One (1) year of clinical nursing experience in the specialty area, with a valid and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
