**Job Description:**

As a Driver and Escort, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe transportation of students and other passengers to and from school, educational events, and community-based programs. This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles to ensure safety and reliability.
  • Operate buses along established routes, adhering to designated bus stops and schedules.
  • Perform emergency evacuation drills as required, ensuring passenger safety.
  • Instruct riders on safety procedures and protocols.
  • Drive defensively in varying traffic conditions and inclement weather, prioritizing passenger safety above all else.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with fellow drivers, maintenance staff, teachers, and school administrators.

Requirements:

  • Ability to operate various vehicle types used by Dean Transportation.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations governing transportation.
  • Knowledge of state laws and local ordinances related to transportation.
  • Experience handling exuberant behavior in youthful riders.
  • Ability to administer disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Earn up to $22.00 per hour.

Our estimated salary for this position is $44,800 - $54,400 per year, based on a 40-hour workweek and 52 weeks of employment per year.
