Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sanitation Specialist to join our team. As a Sanitation Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our facility, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety protocols.
Responsibilities and Duties- Work as a member of a team and individually to maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Understand and perform sanitation procedures as listed on Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs)
- Assemble and disassemble manufacturing equipment as needed prior to and after cleaning and sanitizing
- Follow a master cleaning schedule as assigned by the Food Safety Manager
- Perform tasks as assigned by the supervisor on a daily, weekly, monthly, 6-month, and yearly schedule
- Operate equipment, mix, and use chemicals following proper handling procedures
- Wash equipment, production areas, and storage rooms
- Sanitize fruit processing equipment
- Clean all types of floors
- Responsible for removal of fruit in production areas and handling trash disposal
- Responsible for following all food safety and quality procedures
- Report any violations and injuries to the supervisor or plant manager immediately
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Ability to produce results in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well in a team-based environment
- Ability to lift 20-75 pounds
- Ability to be exposed to sanitation and cleaning chemicals
This position requires frequent standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reaching with hands and arms. Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may also be required.
Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Pay Range$16.00 - $17.00 per hour
Benefits and PerksThis position may encompass other duties than those listed above. If necessary, alternative duties can be assigned at the discretion of the direct supervisor.
