Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Critical Care Nurse to join our team at Middlesex Health. As a Critical Care Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our 24-bed ICU/Intermediate care unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and prioritize patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care, including medication management, wound care, and pain management.
  • Monitor and interpret patient data, including vital signs, lab results, and diagnostic imaging.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients and families, providing emotional support and education throughout the care process.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Currently licensed to practice in the State of Connecticut.
  • Possess the knowledge and skills necessary to assess health needs of patients and to perform nursing care in a safe, caring manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of acute care nursing experience (step down or ICU preferred).
  • Telemetry experience.
  • BSN or ADN/ASN and actively enrolled in a BSN program.
  • Certification in PCCN or CCRN encouraged.
  • Epic experience.
  • ACLS (will be required upon completion of orientation).
