We are seeking a skilled Culinary Professional to join our team at SEARHC in Sitka, AK. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and cook food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
- Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
- Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
- Safely use a variety of utensils including knives
- Operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
- Bake, roast, broil, steam, and use a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
- Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines
- Properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
- Maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
- Adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
- Ensure security of company assets
- Experience as a cook or in a related role required
- Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
- Must be able to acquire food safety certification
- Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
- Demonstrate interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
