Job Summary

The Licensed Vocational Nurse, LVN will provide high-quality nursing care to our residents, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our residents and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Provide routine daily nursing care to residents, including vital sign checks, wound dressing, and catheter insertion.
  • Listen to residents and their families, addressing their concerns and questions in a compassionate and empathetic manner.
  • Perform accurate and detailed charting of resident progress notes, ensuring timely reporting of changes in resident condition.
  • Assist and supervise Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), ensuring the delivery of high-quality care.
  • Monitor residents at risk for falls, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Collect lab samples, adhering to infection control policies and procedures.
  • Abide by all facility policies and procedures, including confidentiality and security protocols.
  • Attend annual facility in-service training programs, staying up-to-date on the latest nursing practices and procedures.
Requirements
  • Completion of LVN training from an accredited school or college.
  • Valid LVN license in good standing.
  • Valid CPR and BLS certification.
  • IV certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 1 year of skilled nursing experience preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language.
  • Ability to use a computer or tablet to enter resident data.
Working Conditions

The Licensed Vocational Nurse, LVN will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with residents, families, and healthcare professionals. The position may require working beyond scheduled hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The nurse may be exposed to odors, dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, or air contaminants, as well as infectious waste, diseases, and conditions, including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.

Physical Requirements

The Licensed Vocational Nurse, LVN must be able to move intermittently throughout the day, working throughout the nursing areas. The nurse must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, with assistance required for lifting more weight up to 100 pounds. The nurse must also be able to read fine print on a tablet, progress notes, and/or medical labels.
