Job Summary:
The Nursing Manager position at Tyson Foods is a key role in our Occupational Health Services team. As a Nursing Manager, you will be responsible for providing professional support, advice, and supervision to our Occupational Health Services staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain Occupational Health programs, policies, and procedures for a facility
- Supervise a group of nursing and support personnel
- Supervise and evaluate nursing care provided to workers
- Monitor nursing functions to ensure nursing staff adheres to correct nursing procedures within scope of practice
- Attend facility management meetings to provide occupational health-related updates
- Conduct annual nurse performance evaluations, interview, and hire qualified nursing staff
- Ensure adequate staffing is provided on each shift
- Manage workers' compensation cases and ensure records and reporting systems comply with OSHA, State, company, and legal requirements
- Adhere to the highest standard of confidentiality
- Participate in facility safety and ergonomic programs
- Develop and coordinate health education programs for Team Members
Requirements:
- Current unrestricted state license as a Registered Nurse is required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 2+ years' management experience and knowledge of occupational health nursing or relevant nursing field preferred
- Basic computer skills and ability to work with an electronic medical documentation system
- Physical requirements include walking through the plant to ensure team member and supervisor compliance with prescribed modified restricted duty requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills and independent decision-making and problem-solving skills
Travel and Relocation:
1-3 domestic trips per year
