Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Pharmacy Billing Clerk to join our team at San Carlos Apache Healthcare Corporation. As a Pharmacy Billing Clerk, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of pharmacy claims and insurance payments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and submit pharmacy claims to insurance companies in a timely and accurate manner
  • Obtain and verify necessary information from patients, healthcare practitioners, and insurance companies to ensure successful claim processing
  • Stock non-control medications and supplies under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist or licensed/registered pharmacy technician
  • Prepare and analyze reports to identify and investigate billing issues, reconcile claims, and maximize revenue
  • Research and follow-up on rejected claims to receive maximum allowable payment
  • Participate in departmental orientation, training, and quality assurance programs to maintain and advance current skill and competency levels
Requirements
  • At least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • BLS certification required within 90 days of hire
  • One year of pharmacy or healthcare experience preferred
  • One year of pharmacy or medical billing experience preferred
  • Six months of customer service and/or clerical experience in a healthcare setting preferred
