We are seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our team at Atrium Health. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for operating CT scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Operate CT scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency.
- Prepare patients for procedures with a full explanation and document on appropriate worksheets.
- Interview patients for a complete medical history and review in-patient, ER, and out-patient EMRs to obtain pertinent clinical history.
- Evaluate technical quality of images and consult with a Radiologist if needed.
- Inform appropriate nursing personnel of any changes in the patient's condition.
- Perform CT scanning and assist Radiologist/PA during invasive procedures.
- Perform all invasive procedures in accordance with bloodborne pathogens, isolation, and infection control policies and procedures.
- Report malfunctioning equipment to the department director/manager/supervisor and clinical engineering/radiology engineer.
- Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology.
- ARRT certification in Radiology, or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine and advanced registry from the ARRT in CT scanning within one year of hire.
- Current CPR certification.
This position requires moderate to heavy physical efforts in lifting and moving patients, equipment, and supplies. Occasional standing, walking, and sitting during normal operation. Frequently may be required to stretch, bend, twist, squat, or kneel in the daily operation of the CT department.
May be exposed to various physical conditions throughout the day such as walking on hard surfaces, climbing stairs, being near moving equipment.
