Job Summary:

The Telecom Apprentice will assist in the installation and maintenance of telecommunication systems, working alongside a licensed technician to ensure seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the installation and maintenance of telecommunication systems, including data cable installations, open wiring, and conduit work.
  • Assist with the installation of relays, racks, cabinets, and network switches.
  • Test cables to TIA/EIA level II standards using a cable analyzer.
  • Perform other routine duties as directed by the workplace leader, including maintaining strict adherence to safety rules and quality.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Experience: 0-4 years of field experience, trade school, or apprenticeship.
  • Be highly focused on customer satisfaction expectations.
  • Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
  • Preparation of miscellaneous paperwork, including time sheets, daily reports, and material requests.
  • Understanding of and strict adherence to daily Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
  • Appropriate state certification or license.
  • OSHA 10 certification.

  • Ability to perform tasks in all aspects of construction sites.
  • Ability to climb ladders and crawl as needed.
  • Ability to work from aerial lifts.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 50 lbs.
