Position Overview:
The Advanced Radiologic Technologist II is accountable for executing and overseeing CT imaging procedures. Under the guidance of the Unit Coordinator for CT, this role entails performing CT examinations as per the assigned schedule. The position may require overtime and on-call duties based on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts all CT imaging procedures with precision.
  • Performs daily calibration assessments, including electronic calibrations.
  • Prepares and administers contrast agents during imaging studies.
  • Manages, acquires, and processes images within the Radiology PACS environment, demonstrating proficiency with Power Chart.
  • Utilizes relevant functions and applications within the Radiology Information Systems (RIS).
  • Undertakes additional responsibilities as directed by the Unit Coordinator or Manager.
  • Completes annual competency evaluations for Aspiration - Irrigation of Drains/Chest Tubes.
  • Ensures the proper segregation and safe disposal of hazardous pharmaceutical waste.
  • Fosters a positive work environment and contributes to the overall success of the department while maintaining a proactive attitude.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education:
  • Demonstrated skills and expertise in Radiologic Technology, typically acquired through completion of an accredited formal education program in Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
  • Exhibits a friendly demeanor and maintains a positive interaction with patients, visitors, and colleagues, adhering to the departmental standards of excellence.
Licensure and Certification:
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Responsible for maintaining active certification with the ARRT.
  • Must achieve ARRT registration within one year of employment.
  • Proactively manages licensure to prevent lapses and promptly communicates any issues to the Director.
Experience:
  • Preferred one year of experience in CT with CT registry; however, this is not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with hospital and departmental policies and procedures, with the ability to perform CT procedures gained through six months of on-the-job training.
