About the Role

This casual phlebotomy position is located at two client office sites in Libertyville and Skokie. The successful candidate will be required to work Wednesday afternoons in Skokie, every other Thursday in Libertyville, Friday mornings in Libertyville, and one Saturday per month in Libertyville.

As a Phlebotomist at Northwestern Medicine, you will play a critical role in providing expert phlebotomy services to patients, while demonstrating excellent customer service and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform venipuncture collections and specimen processing in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate AIDET model and optimize patient safety to reduce medical errors.
  • Process specimens in a timely manner to ensure stability and integrity of samples.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and laboratory staff to ensure seamless operations.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow up on outstanding orders as necessary.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Phlebotomy certification through a nationally recognized organization or training from a phlebotomy school or medical institution.
  • One or more years of phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting or CMA certification.
