Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Ochsner Health is seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our medical staff to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Provide primary and urgent medical management, emergency stabilization of critically ill patients, and teaching of residents and medical students.
- Develop and implement medical and nursing care plans, and assume responsibility for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care, and participate in multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.
- Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare staff on various aspects of patient care, and develop and implement patient education programs.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest medical practices, research, and technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve patient care and outcomes.
- Master's degree in Nursing or Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physician Assistant medicine or Health Sciences, or graduate of an approved Physician Assistant Training Program.
- Current License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of practice, or License as a Physician Assistant in the state of practice, NCCPA Certified.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) / Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the American Heart Association, and Eligible for Prescriptive Authority in the state of practice as outlined by the State Board of Nursing.
- Strong interpersonal skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including 24/7, weekend, holiday, and on-call availability.
The incumbent works in a patient care area, works in an area where patients enter, works directly with patients, and/or works with specimens that could contain communicable diseases. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases, and the risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
