About the Role

The Kitchen Steward is a key member of the Oak View Group team, responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen. This includes ensuring all kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishes are cleaned and sanitized, as well as assisting the kitchen staff with various tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the dishwashing machine, ensuring water temperature is correct and soap and drying agents are connected and working properly
  • Maintain organization of dishware, smallwares, pots and pans in kitchen and storage areas
  • Clean the food production areas in the kitchen and warehouse, including walls, floors, and other areas as necessary
  • Remove garbage and recyclables from the kitchen and deposit them in the appropriate venue garbage and recycling area
  • Clean the kitchen equipment and ensure items disassembled for cleaning are properly reassembled and operational
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of banquets
  • Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
  • Demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for attendance
  • Work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Knowledge of sanitation requirements
  • Lift and move up to 50lbs
  • Stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Communicate with employees, co-workers, management staff, and guests in a clear, business-like, and respectful manner

Qualifications

Physical Demands:

  • Extensive and continuous standing and walking
  • Grasping, fingering manipulation of product, feeling, and lifting
  • Pushing, pulling carts of dishes and climbing, stooping, kneeling to reach supplies and product
  • Loud environment, including loud food production machinery and crowded workspace
  • Exposure to hot plates, dishes, and sharp objects
  • Exposure to wet floors
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Adjusting focus, peripheral vision, and close vision to stock product and operate equipment
  • Frequently hearing communication of others in a loud food production environment
