Overview: We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer and Integration Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, quality assurance, and integration.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Create detailed test plans and strategies to ensure comprehensive coverage of software requirements.
  2. Establish and track quality metrics to measure the effectiveness of testing processes and software quality.
  3. Construct and manage detailed test cases and test scripts based on software requirements and specifications.
  4. Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools and frameworks to improve efficiency and coverage.
  5. Perform various types of testing, including unit, functional, regression, integration, performance, capacity, and security testing.
  6. Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects and issues.
  7. Collaborate with development teams to remediate and resolve defects and issues.
  8. Create detailed integration plans outlining steps and processes for integrating software components.
  9. Establish strategies for integrating software systems, including data mapping, API integration, and middleware solutions.
  10. Analyze and develop system requirements and specifications to satisfy business needs, integrate with existing environments, and deliver reusable components.
  11. Assess existing systems and identify integration points, dependencies, and potential challenges.
  12. Design overall architecture of software systems, including data flow and interactions between different systems.
  13. Create detailed design documents outlining software functionality, user interface, and interactions.
  14. Ensure clean, efficient, and maintainable code according to design specifications.
  15. Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, consistency, and adherence to standards.
  16. Write and maintain code for integration, including APIs, scripts, and middleware configurations.
  17. Implement integration solutions in development, staging, and production environments.
  18. Configure systems and applications to enable integration, including setting up necessary parameters and connections.
  19. Facilitate release management through various environments.
  20. Monitor performance and stability of deployed software and make necessary improvements.
  21. Address bugs, performance issues, and user-reported problems.
  22. Facilitate software updates, enhancements, and new features as needed.
  23. Continuously review and improve software development and quality assurance processes and methods to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  24. Apply industry best practices in software development and quality assurance.
  25. Collaborate closely with developers, system architects, product managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, provide feedback, and ensure delivery of high-quality solutions.
  26. Regularly communicate status, risks, and issues in quality assurance transparently to all stakeholders.
  27. Identify potential quality risks in software development process and propose mitigation strategies.
  28. Ensure software environments are properly configured and maintained to support comprehensive release management.
  29. Implement security measures to protect data across all integrated systems.
  30. Ensure processes comply with relevant regulations, standards, and association policies.
  31. Write technical documentation, including design documents, user guides, and API documentation.
  32. Maintain detailed records of software modules, integration points, data flow, test plans, test cases, test results, and quality processes and procedures.
  33. Evaluate, select, and implement testing tools and frameworks to support software development and quality assurance processes.
  34. Ensure proper setup, maintenance, and continuous improvement of software development and testing infrastructure and tools.
  35. Engage business analysts, customers, and end-users to understand and represent their needs and expectations regarding software performance and quality.
  36. Ensure delivered software meets or exceeds customer expectations in terms of functionality, quality, reliability, and performance.
  37. Uphold and model CSBA's vision, mission, values, policies, and practices.
  38. Contribute to association and departmental strategic plans and objectives by developing and applying subject matter expertise in assigned areas.
  39. Participate in short- and long-term strategy and direction for the association and the department.
  40. Monitor changes in regulations, legislative issues, education policy trends, and innovations.
  41. Maintain current understanding of education industry, from state and federal laws to local district politics.
  42. Demonstrate respect, honesty, and professionalism at all times.
