About the RoleThe Red Lion Hotel & Conference Center Pasco is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for overseeing all culinary activities, including menu planning, food preparation, and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement menus that meet the highest standards of quality and presentation
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of food, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards
- Manage inventory and supplies, ensuring that the kitchen is always well-stocked and that waste is minimized
- Train and develop kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are able to perform their duties to the highest standards
- Work closely with the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage Manager to ensure that the kitchen is running smoothly and efficiently
- Assist with the planning and execution of special events and banquets
- Perform other related duties as required
- Three years of progressive experience in high-volume food production or catering
- Experience in menu planning, food preparation, and inventory management
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
- Bachelor's degree in food preparation, management, nutrition, or a related field
- Formal culinary art training
- Prior experience in training, purchasing, and managing budgets
