Responsibilities
You will address and investigate reports while interpreting and enforcing applicable state and federal laws, the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), Department of Defense (DoD) and Navy regulations, as well as installation directives, rules, and regulations.
You will respond to intrusion detection system (IDS) alarms, emergency calls, complaints, and other service requests while on duty.
You will have the authority to apprehend individuals, both cooperative and non-cooperative members of the public.
You will execute a comprehensive range of force protection, anti-terrorism, and sentry responsibilities at installations or activities with significant operational assets, unrestricted access points, and large populations present.
You will serve as the Incident Commander (IC) for significant and catastrophic incidents as necessary. You will collect and disseminate incident intelligence, coordinate response resources, and develop and implement initial action plans. You will perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
To qualify for this role, your resume must reflect sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the responsibilities of the specific position for which you are being considered.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must illustrate the following:
1) Conducting investigations related to unusual circumstances and/or legal violations;
2) Managing checkpoints/roadblocks at various locations to mitigate criminal activity;
3) Inspecting packages/personal belongings when granting access to controlled areas; and
4) Responding to emergency service calls while complying with state and federal laws.

This announcement utilizes the Defense Industrial Base, Major Range and Test Facilities direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.
This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. A standard 40-hour work week is typical for this role. This position may require shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays to fulfill mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be necessary. Completion of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Uniformed Police Training Program is a condition of continued employment. The employee will be required to sign a continuing service agreement prior to attending the academy.
Agreement to Continue in Service
The agency requires 36 months of continued employment following the completion of required training from the FLETC in accordance with Title 5 USC 4108 and 5 CFR. Failure to voluntarily fulfill the length of employment requirement may result in the employee being liable to reimburse the agency for fees, such as tuition and related expenses (excluding salary) incurred in connection with the training.

A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selected candidate fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to attend any scheduled appointments.
