We are seeking a highly skilled Genetic Counselor to join our team at US Health Services. As a Genetic Counselor, you will play a critical role in providing expert guidance and support to patients and their families affected by genetic diseases and cancer.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and Interpret Patient Data: Gather and review patient medical and family histories, medical records, test results, and other relevant information to identify genetic risks and develop personalized counseling plans.
- Coordinate Testing and Communication: Work with healthcare providers to coordinate genetic testing and communicate results to patients and their families.
- Develop Genetic Counseling Plans: Create comprehensive plans that include risk assessment, referrals, education, life planning options, and treatment options to support patients and their families.
- Provide Education and Support: Offer counseling and education to patients and their families to help them understand their genetic risks and make informed decisions about their health.
- Master's Degree in Genetic Counseling: Possess a master's degree in genetic counseling from an accredited program.
- Certification as a Genetic Counselor: Be certified as a genetic counselor by the American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG) or the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) within one year of hire.
