Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at Cash Waggner & Associates. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing foundations, retaining walls, earth dams, clay liners, and geosynthetics for waste containment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop geotechnical structures and systems
  • Assess the properties and behavior of soil, rock, and other earth materials
  • Collaborate with surveyors and other stakeholders to establish installations and reference points
  • Set design specifications and compute load and grade requirements
  • Plan projects based on relevant materials and data
  • Draft and present reports on project topics
  • Estimate materials, equipment, and labor needed for project costs
  • Monitor project progress and ensure design specifications, safety, and sanitation standards are met
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with an emphasis on Soils Mechanics, Foundations, Geotechnical Engineering, and Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer licensure or ability to become licensed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to identify and solve complex problems
  • Detail-oriented and accurate
Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Must be able to travel to various project sites. Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas.
