Job Summary:

Load and unload railcars and tanker trucks for distribution to customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate pumps and valves to unload dry and liquid railcars.
  • Perform and document quality control checks to ensure all products meet quality specifications.
  • Perform and document sanitation duties of the terminal as assigned by management.
  • Complete and maintain quality control logs and forms as specified by standard operating procedures.
  • Operate pumps and valves to sanitize tanker trailers.
  • Operate pumps and valves to make liquid Sucrose and Liquid Blends.
  • Perform daily equipment inspection to detect mechanical defects and notify supervisor.
  • Operate computer systems to input data and other business functions.
  • Handle and connect hoses.
  • Couple and uncouple trailers, cranking of dolly legs, pulling 5th wheel pins.
  • Ascend and descend tractor cabs, trailers, railcars, storage tanks, catwalks, ladders, and step stools.
  • Jockey trailers using tractors and yard tractors within company property only.
Essential Job Functions:

Education and Training:

No prior experience or training is required. Less than high school education or up to one month related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.

The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals is required. The ability to write routine reports and correspondence is also required.

The ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's is required. The ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance is also required.

The ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists is required.

The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form is required.
