Senior Accountant Job Description

Baker's Crust, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at the Corporate Office in Virginia Beach, VA. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for engaging in day-to-day accounting activities and contributing to the preparation of weekly, period, and annual financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the accounting team and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Develop and implement accounting processes and policies to ensure compliance and efficiency
  • Manage a high volume of daily transactions and ensure financial reports are accurate and reliable
  • Provide accounting and analytic support to the Company's restaurants and affiliate businesses
  • Ensure accurate mapping of point-of-sale connections with the Company's accounting system
  • Approve corporate-level invoices and add new inventory items to the inventory management system
  • Execute weekly check runs, review and process bi-weekly payroll, and approve new hires into ADP WorkforceNow
  • Reconcile monthly bank statements, file monthly sales taxes, and report monthly store sales to landlords
  • Record period close journal entries and engage in the period close process
  • Monitor bakery receivables for unbilled amounts and follow up with bakery on any missing customer billings
  • Ensure collection of bakery and catering receivables and submit annual ABC MBAR filings, health and fire permit filings, and quarterly Bureau of Labor Statistics reports
  • Manage records database and ensure transaction supporting documentation is saved and retained appropriately
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of accounting experience
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and excellent Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Toast POS, Restaurant365, and ADP preferred
  • Reliable transportation to and from the Company's office in Virginia Beach
  • Willingness to submit to credit and criminal background screening
