Transformer Technician

At Orion Talent, we are seeking a skilled Transformer Technician to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing service, repair, and testing of transformers in workshops and at customer sites.

• Perform field and in-house transformer activities on oil-filled and/or dry-type transformers.
• Ensure tasks are completed utilizing all necessary safety procedures and equipment.
• Work overtime and weekends as needed to meet customer needs and/or company objectives.
• Converse with personnel to analyze the scope of work requirements, and current operational procedures, identify problems, and continuous improvements.
• Provide technical support to customers and shop/field personnel, as necessary.
• Capable of performing our standard electrical testing.
• Experienced and capable in one or more of the following areas: Untanking/Tanking of core and coils, re-gasketing, core iron unstacking/stacking, removal/installation of coils, lead assembly and/or tap changers with limited guidance.
• Capable of performing oil processing/handling with limited guidance.
• Maintain a professional attitude when representing the company during phone, or personal contact with customers, employees, outside vendors, and/or service providers, etc.
• Advocates and abides by all quality, safety, and environmental procedures and reports any non-compliance.
• Provide support for any special projects as assigned by Management.
