Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Relief Program Manager to lead a team of relief workers in responding to natural disasters across the United States.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive plan for disaster response, including setup, coordination with church partners, and communication with local emergency management officials
  • Supervise and train a team of relief workers, including deploying staff and volunteers, and ensure they have the necessary skills and equipment to perform their duties effectively
  • Monitor and manage the movement of disaster relief supplies and equipment, including tracking inventory levels and coordinating logistics
  • Collaborate with government agencies, churches, and other relief organizations to coordinate disaster response efforts and ensure effective communication
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including church leaders, government officials, and community leaders
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize the impact of natural disasters on communities
  • Develop and implement programs to promote spiritual growth and development among team members and affected communities
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including daily/monthly reports of activities and financial transactions
  • Participate in regular staff meetings and provide input on program development and implementation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university and two (2) to three (3) years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to obtain a Class A restricted driver's license and a valid Department of Transportation Medical card
  • Working knowledge of general construction and general chainsaw use
  • General knowledge of Excel, Word and the ability to learn in-house specialized computer applications
  • Highly effective communication skills including written and public speaking
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in difficult situations with limited resources; ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions
  • Proven ability to do the work asked of our volunteers
  • Ability to deploy with very short notice
  • Ability to given data and statistics to determine volunteer needs, length of deployment, and forecasting completion dates
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); if not already completed, opportunity to meet and complete requirement is available upon hire
