Position Summary:

This role is pivotal in executing compliance and operational risk oversight as the second line of defense for Global Markets Risk and Financial Risk. Key duties include ensuring adherence to the Global Compliance Enterprise Policy and the Operational Risk Management Enterprise Policy, while identifying, addressing, and mitigating risks effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate risks and the effectiveness of processes and controls within Global Markets Risk and Financial Risk to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide independent oversight of compliance and operational risk for Global Markets Risk and Financial Risk performance and related third-party relationships.
  • Identify and escalate compliance issues, driving actions to address root causes of risks.
  • Maintain an inventory of processes, risks, controls, and metrics for risk appetite and limits, reporting any compliance violations.
  • Assist in developing independent risk management reports for governance and management routines.
  • Analyze applicable laws and regulations to offer clear guidance to stakeholders and manage risks effectively.
  • Review and challenge processes and risk assessments, monitoring regulatory changes that may impact coverage areas.
  • Ensure a robust risk culture is established to identify and escalate issues appropriately.

The Risk and Compliance Oversight Manager is responsible for providing independent oversight of Front Line Unit or Control Function performance, ensuring alignment with established policies and procedures. This role involves proactive engagement with other risk officers to maintain comprehensive oversight of activities, developing and executing risk management strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of risk management practices, particularly in monitoring and testing.
  • Familiarity with governance and reporting standards.
  • Experience in issue management and the ability to challenge work effectively.
  • Background in Global Markets Risk and/or Financial Risk.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of experience in Risk Management, with at least 5 years in Markets or Financial Risk Management.
  • Working knowledge of relevant policies and standards.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
