Quality Control Engineer

As a Quality Control Engineer at Twin Cities Orthopedics, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality standards in our manufacturing processes. With a focus on die casting, you will lead problem-solving teams to address customer complaints and internal quality issues. Your expertise in effective problem-solving tools and techniques will drive process improvements and reduce scrap. You will also be responsible for managing internal and external corrective actions, maintaining quality plans, and training employees on manufacturing quality procedures. Key Responsibilities
- Lead problem-solving teams to address customer complaints and internal quality issues.
- Manage internal and external corrective actions and preventive actions.
- Utilize problem-solving tools to improve die cast process performance and reduce scrap.
- Maintain, update, and train employees on manufacturing quality plans.
- Disposition suspect product and materials.
- Analyze and interpret prints, data, manuals, and other materials.
- Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications.
- Train employees on the use of gaging, customer requirements, and quality plans.
- Issue and track RMA's.
- Communicate quality issues with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Provide leadership in establishing a quality culture and maintaining the integrity of the Quality Management System.
- Provide guidance in interpreting ISO/TS 16949 standards and internal policies.
- Maintain complete confidentiality relating to sensitive business, financial, and personnel issues.
- Responsible for knowing and following all environmental, health, and safety rules, policies, and procedures.
Work Environment
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, and vibration.
- Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions.
- Occasional exposure to fume or airborne particles.
- Loud noise level in the work environment.
Education and Experience
- Training in vocational school or an associate's degree with 5+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven problem-solving proficiency in a manufacturing environment, preferably in die casting.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
- Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.
- Basic knowledge of blueprint reading, including GD&T.
