Direct Support Professional Role

Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Direct Support Professional to join our team at Hodges Care Home. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a critical role in supporting the daily lives of our residents, who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Job Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:- Support residents with daily tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming;
- Transport residents to medical appointments, social events, and other activities;
- Coordinate residents' healthcare needs, including medication management;
- Supervise and coach residents during community outings, promoting independence and safety;
- Monitor residents' physical and emotional well-being, reporting any concerns or changes;
- Prepare meals and maintain a clean living environment, adhering to all regulations and guidelines;
- Respond to emergencies, such as medical incidents or fires, following established protocols;
- Record data and maintain accurate files regarding residents' health and progress;
- Advocate on behalf of each resident, ensuring their rights and dignity are respected.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Requirements:- Prior experience working with individuals with special needs is highly desirable;
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude toward residents, colleagues, and visitors;
- Ability to complete required staff training and continuing education annually;
- Willingness to work weekend, holiday, and overnight shifts as required;
- Meet Title 22 requirements, including age, education, health screening, and CPR training.
