Key Responsibilities

Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in paint shop operations
  • Proficient in using basic hand tools and measuring instruments (such as verniers, micrometers, measuring tape, calipers, scales, etc.)
  • Competent in basic computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of blueprint and process sheet interpretation
  • Understanding of fundamental mathematical concepts (conversions to decimal system; milliliters, grams, etc.)
  • Must pass a visual acuity examination
  • This position is limited to U.S. persons due to access to export-controlled technology.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Execute painting on all products and specialized components (including DDSI parts, bellows, NPD)
  • Conduct complex error repairs on materials or surfaces
  • Ensure the validity of materials by monitoring expiration dates
  • Engage frequently with internal and external customers and support functions (such as Planners, Engineering) outside of the home department
  • Serve as the primary contact for auditors
  • Perform tasks on prototype or first-time builds
  • Participate in and support team initiatives
  • Cross-train with colleagues as required based on knowledge and experience
  • Accurately complete all written and/or electronic labor tracking documentation
  • Assist in the inspection of painted/coated components
  • Possess knowledge of paint room processes and proper workflow
  • Support and assist in leading team initiatives
  • Report issues to the appropriate resource and/or Coach
  • Keep all shift operators informed on special problems related to operation or setup
  • Communicate with the team to ensure all members are aware of new processes and/or issues
  • Assist Engineering and/or Team in the development and/or enhancement of layout procedures and process sheets
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance and inspections for compliance
  • Maintain equipment functionality by making timely adjustments
  • Proactively seek to enhance efficiency and quality of products
  • Comfortable working with and around chemicals
  • Must possess FAA Certification
  • Utilize appropriate PPE, safety equipment, and adhere to safety protocols
  • Other duties as assigned by the department.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with paints and coatings, and knowledge of basic chemical safety
  • Experience in a self-directed team environment
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Ability to work proactively with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrates effectiveness in a team-oriented environment

  • Familiarity with 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to continuously use hands and fingers repetitively.
  • Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, twist, crouch, squat, climb, and/or balance.
  • Ability to continuously sit; ability to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.; ability to push/pull up to 22 lbs.
