The Clean Products Negotiation Specialist reports to the Director of Supply & Exchange and is tasked with the negotiation and execution of Purchase, Sale, Exchange, and Buy/Sell agreements for Clean Products across various transportation modes. This role involves executing Term, Spot, and Exchange agreements in both new and established markets to (i) support Marketing sales, (ii) provide additional supply to meet current and emerging demand, (iii) secure refinery offtake at enhanced margins compared to alternatives, and (iv) assist in inventory management. All activities are driven by the goal of optimizing general interest and profitability for Phillips 66 Company, necessitating the development and maintenance of robust relationships with external partners. The position is accountable for identifying, analyzing, negotiating, and executing agreements, requiring frequent interaction with external partners as well as various internal functions and roles that support Commercial and VCO. A solid understanding of value chain operations and value drivers is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Negotiate and finalize Term and Spot agreements of various types (Purchase, Sale, Exchange, and Buy/Sell) with external partners.
- Establish and nurture strong external relationships with partners to enhance Phillips 66's options.
- Manage Term Contracts
- Input and modify agreements in SAP.
- Oversee and manage contracts ensuring accuracy, completeness, and necessary modifications.
- Collaborate with the Coordinator of Supply & Exchange, internal support teams, and external parties to (i) ensure timely terminal and product setups; (ii) forecast, nominate, and allocate product movements for all contracts; (iii) monitor and confirm exchange balances through financial bookouts and bulk paybacks.
- Continuously track the utilization and profitability of agreements.
- Implement an annual review process to reassess long-term and evergreen agreements.
- Optimization
- Actively seek mutually beneficial opportunities with partners.
- Work collaboratively with all internal stakeholders (VCO; Trading; Scheduling; Commercial BD; Midstream BD; Refining; Marketing) as needed to identify, evaluate, and capitalize on opportunities.
- Partner with VCO Product Optimization Directors to uncover additional opportunities that leverage our asset base or reduce our supply costs.
- Assist in optimizing pipeline and terminal volumes in the region according to product placement strategies.
- Review and approve all new Marketing agreements requiring third-party supply via Rack Purchase or Exchange Receipts, coordinating with Commercial BD as necessary.
- Coordinate resupply and execution of agreements for planned and unplanned supply disruptions.
- Assess counterparty requests to ensure alignment with Phillips 66's general interests.
- Analyze various supply costs and terminal netbacks for Phillips 66.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis to monitor market dynamics and evaluate various alternatives.
- Document and capture value generated from agreements according to guidelines to facilitate KPI tracking and identify expected impacts on the Supply Book.
- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 3 or more years of industry experience.
- Strong financial and economic analysis skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
- 7 or more years of industry experience, including Commercial, Business Development, Marketing, and/or Operations.
- Proven ability to build relationships and navigate conflicts.
- Demonstrates discernment and ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly developed written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
- Proactive thinker with detail-oriented analytical and creative problem-solving skills.

- Proficient in SAP, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Ability to work remotely via cellphone and/or laptop and willingness to work extended and non-standard hours when necessary.
