Job Summary: We are seeking a Recreation Therapist to join our team at River Park Hospital. As a Recreation Therapist, you will work with acute and chronically mentally ill patients to assess their leisure and recreational habits and provide therapeutic interventions to improve their daily functioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement therapeutic recreation and psycho-education services for patients, including physical fitness, creative expression opportunities, and leisure activities.
  • Administer therapeutic recreational assessments and document patient responses in medical records.
  • Provide progress reports for treatment team meetings and contribute to the development of treatment plans.
  • Maintain age-appropriate recreation and education supplies and equipment.
  • Attend and participate in patient treatment team meetings as part of the interdisciplinary team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Health Services related field, Recreation and Leisure preferred.
  • CTRS certification preferred but not required.
  • Experience may be substituted for minimum requirements as follows: A minor in a Health Services related field and a minimum of one year working in the mental health field.
