The University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the position of Program Technician - Irrigation Water Management. This role will be responsible for conducting field activities in irrigation water management, including repairing and installing irrigation equipment, planting and harvesting crops, and collecting and analyzing data.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct field experiments and collect data on irrigation water management practices
- Repair and install irrigation equipment, including pumps, pipes, and valves
- Plant and harvest crops, including grains, fruits, and vegetables
- Collect and analyze data on irrigation water usage and crop yields
- Collaborate with researchers and extension agents to develop and implement irrigation management strategies
To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as agriculture, environmental science, or engineering. You will also need strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
