We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our team as a Lead Seismic Risk Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting and reviewing Probable Maximum Loss (PML) studies on buildings, including all field work, data compilation, calculations, and report preparation.
About the JobThis is a full-time, salaried position that requires a minimum of 10 years' experience with building materials/systems, construction or design, or forensic investigation. You should have a breadth of knowledge of seismic design and retrofit requirements utilized in current and past building codes.
- Prior PML experience is required, and knowledge of HUD and/or other government-related scopes of work is preferred.
- You should have experience working in a fast-paced consulting firm with the ability to independently manage multiple projects.
- Comfort with being client-facing and presenting seismic information is also essential, as you will need to communicate findings to senior internal and external clientele.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Conducting and reviewing PML studies on buildings, including all field work, data compilation, calculations, and report preparation.
- Performing structural/forensic investigations of different properties and construction loan monitoring.
- Assessing seismic risk and providing recommendations for mitigation measures.
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field, with a Master's Degree preferred but not required.
- California Licensed P.E., with S.E. preferred, and the ability to attain additional registration as needed.
We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $130,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. This position may also be eligible for a bonus, resulting in total compensation exceeding base salary based on individual performance.
