Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze recent incidents and emergency responses to identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and audits of the worksite, implementing necessary enhancements.
  • Examine the outcomes of occupational accidents and incidents, providing management with recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
  • Propose new safety policies and procedures to strengthen workplace safety.
  • Review and assess employee safety suggestions, facilitating management's evaluation process.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment through 5S practices.
  • Encourage participation in health and safety engagement initiatives.
  • Support the safety initiatives led by designated health and safety leadership.
  • Act as a designated rescuer for Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) incidents.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on safety-related matters.

Nature & Scope
  • Operates within clearly defined guidelines.
  • The Safety Coordinator serves as a vital communication link between employees and management regarding safety and health issues, adhering to established procedures while working under direct supervision.
Knowledge & Skills Required
  • In-depth understanding of Daikin's Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing safety protocols and practices, including personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Capability to build positive relationships with team members.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow procedures, work instructions, and company policies.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated with a sense of urgency.
  • Comfortable in coaching and mentoring employees.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated good judgment and a strong work ethic.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and other database software.
  • Knowledge of forklift and reach truck operations and safety protocols is preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in a high-volume environment.
  • Experience with powered industrial trucks is advantageous.
Education
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Some college education or equivalent work experience is preferred.

  • Must be capable of performing essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
