Pediatric Neurologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pediatric Epileptologist to join our team at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As a key member of our Division of Pediatric Neurology, you will be responsible for providing tertiary clinical services, teaching resident physicians, pediatric neurology fellows, and medical students in child neurology and epilepsy.
Key Responsibilities:- Providing medical services and training residents and fellows during rotations on inpatient general child neurology, inpatient epilepsy monitoring unit, and outpatient clinics.
- Reading routine and stereo-electroencephalograms, evoked potentials, long-term video electroencephalograms, and participating in pre-surgical pediatric epilepsy diagnostic evaluations.
- Conducting multidisciplinary surgical approach planning in conjunction with neurosurgery, including laser interstitial thermal ablation and deep brain stimulation options for pediatric patients.
- M.D. or equivalent degree and completion of both a child neurology residency and an epilepsy sub-specialty fellowship in an accredited program.
- Licensed or eligible for medical licensure in North Carolina.
- Working knowledge of scalp high-density electroencephalographic recordings, subdural grid, and depth stereology for pre-surgical epilepsy evaluations.
- ABPN board certified in child neurology and board certified/eligible in epilepsy.
- Established skills in epilepsy surgery multi-modal diagnostic evaluations, planning for localization of stereo EEG, interpretation of stereo EEG, and multidisciplinary surgical approach planning in conjunction with neurosurgery.
