Job Summary

We are seeking a Clinical Continuous Improvement Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for assessing compliance with organizational internal policies, performing site visits, and conducting ongoing reviews of patient care practices to identify opportunities for improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess compliance with organizational internal policies through concurrent and retrospective chart review, observation of clinical and operational performance, data collection and analysis, and mock surveys.
  • Perform site visits to assess for compliance with, and staff knowledge of, Infection Control Policies, including hand hygiene, proper use of PPE, and appropriate disinfection/sterilization practices.
  • Conduct ongoing reviews of patient care practices (on-site) and functions to identify opportunities for improvement and assure ongoing compliance.
  • Collect data on required medical staff measurement and assessment activities.
  • Function as a clinical resource and educator in compliance for MCR policies, procedures, and standards in addition to applicable regulatory agencies.
  • Develop educational materials as needed to support performance improvement and staff educational needs.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate corrective action plans based on past surveys and preparatory tracer activities.
  • Actively and proactively prepare for and participate in on-site surveys, including coordination of agendas, assigning tasks, tracking activities, and communication plans for all stakeholders.
  • Remain current and knowledgeable with current and future standards applicable to MCR.
  • Utilize resources from other departments when conducting site visits and records evaluations & observations to assess readiness.
  • Conduct competency checks on sterilization.
Requirements
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) 1+ years in good standing with the FL Board of Nursing or MA License with a combination of education and experience.
  • Degree in healthcare related field - preferred.
  • Experience with coordinating, teaching, or performing audits related to federal accreditations (e.g. Joint Commission (TJC), URAC, HRSA, etc.) 1 year preferred.
  • Experience with auditing disaster preparedness, infection prevention monitoring, and/or risk management- 1 year preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite- preferred.
  • Valid driver license required with the ability to move between sites as needed to oversee, observe, and monitor operations - required.
  • Travel between clinical sites (75%).
  • Process improvement experience and/or certification (e.g. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt) beneficial.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
